The unu 2 is a second generation electric scooter from an electric scooter manufacturer from Berlin, Germany.

The scooter is almost completely redesigned including a new battery and motor.Β The old uno model has been renamed to unu Classic.

The unu 2 is available with 3 engine variants: 2,000 watt (basic), 3,000 watt (standard) and 4,000 watt (premium). The Standard has a 3,000 watt electric motor made by Bosch.

The unu 2 has 2 removable Lithium batteries made by LG for an effective city driving range of 62 miles. The batteries have a new design and are provided with a easy charge station. The charge time is 7 hours. While this may seem long, the battery life is guaranteed at 10 years.

The scooter has an exceptionally large buddy seat that fits two helmets, two batteries, a back pack plus a laptop.

The unu has aΒ Kinetic Energy Recovery SystemΒ (KERS)Β or regenerative braking in which energy from braking is returned to the battery. Regenerative braking reduces air pollution emitted by disc brakes while saving power costs.

Smart scooter

The unu 2Β is a true smart scooter that connects with a smart phone and that provides a touch screen display. The software provides many features including navigation, anti-theft and the ability to remotely share the scooter with friends and family by providing (temporary) keys. The software is continuously updated with new features (Over The Air Updates, or OTA).

The scooter is available in many colors and can be personalized via an online configurator.

The scooter can be ordered online and is shipped world wide.

Disc Brakes: air pollution

Air Pollution by Disc Brakes causes 20% of the total emissions by a standard car and the pollution (ultra-fine dust) is more toxic for humans than exhaust fumes.

"Vehicle tailpipe emissions are going down, but the emissions from disc brakes will remain to some extent, even if you drive an electric car," Weber said. "Therefore, this kind of process will continue to play out in the future and will be an important consideration when we look at the health effects of particulate matter." (
